Austin Senior Move Manager and Professional Organizer Endows NASMM Scholarship Fund

February 28, 2014

At the 2014 National Association of Senior Move Manager (NASMM) Conference held in San Diego, California, senior move managers from all over the world were excited to learn of the creation of the Barry Izsak/Peg Guild Professional Development Scholarship Fund. The fund was endowed through the generosity of Barry Izsak, who is a senior move manager and professional organizing expert an in Austin, Texas. Izsak chose to memorialize his friend and industry colleague, Peg Guild, in the naming of the fund. Guild was a trailblazing pioneer in the senior move management industry and a past president of NASMM.

Barry attended his first NASMM conference in 2008. Little did he know that his attendance at that conference would once again change his life in a profound way and send his career in a whole new direction. It wasn't long after endowing a conference scholarship fund for NAPO (National Association of Professional Organizers) in 2012 that his thoughts soon turned to NASMM and what he could do to give back for that pivotal, life-changing experience.

"There is no doubt in my mind that finding NASMM and NAPO--helped me find myself. My active involvement in both associations has paved the way for me to achieve my full potential in these great industries--and as a human being," Izsak said.

The purpose of the fund is to offer the same life-changing opportunity to others who for whatever reason might otherwise not be able to afford to attend a NASMM conference, as well as participate in other professional development opportunities that we haven't even thought of yet.

It is his sincere hope that the Barry Izsak/Peg Guild Professional Development Scholarship Fund will become a preferred way to honor or memorialize a colleague or client and afford others a chance to attend a NASMM conference that they might not otherwise be able to, "so they too can see first-hand and experience what our incredible senior move manager community and industry is all about," Izsak added.
